Protecting the information we collect from our customers is important to us here at Doreen Smith Interiors.
We collect information from you when you purchase from our website or sign up to receive our newsletter. You can receive our newsletter by signing up on our website, or by ticking the ‘accept terms & conditions’ when placing an order. Please see below about how we store and use your details.
When ordering goods you will need to provide certain data such as your contact details and demographic information. We will store this data and may use your email address to contact you with details of our products for sale via our mailing list and otherwise for the normal use and improvement of our Site. We use Mailchimp (a third party marketing platform which adhere to GDPR policies) where we only hold your name and email information and will only ever use your email to communicate to you. We would like to assure you that access to Mail Chimp is password protected and we would never give email addresses out to marketing companies. If you wish to update or delete your personal information that has been specifically left on our mailing list, please contact us.
To proceed with your order, we have to process and provide your data to third parties who are directly involved with your order, e.g. our couriers. By placing an order with us, you agree to your data being processed by Doreen Smith Interiors. We will not pass on your data to anyone outside our organisation.
We would also like to add, for Tax purposes, paper records of order invoices are held for 7 years. After 7 years this information will be securely destroyed.
We will respect the privacy of your personal data, and will comply with all relevant and current data protection legislation. We will not disclose your personal data to anyone, unless required to do so by a court of competent jurisdiction.
To enable us to monitor and improve our Site, we use Google Analytics. This platform may gather certain aggregated information about you when you use it, for example details of your operating system, browser version, domain name and IP address, the URL you come from and go to and the parts of the Site you visit.
We endeavour to take all responsible steps to protect your personal Data but cannot guarantee the security of any Data you disclose online. You accept the inherent security implications of being and transacting online over the Internet and will not hold us responsible for any breach of security unless we have been negligent or in willful default.
All transactions on our website are performed through PayPal, and therefore you are bound by their terms and conditions in respect of payment transfers.
